Happy Valentine's Day
I found this Chelsea doll at Target two weeks ago and she's dressed for Valentine's Day. She has a heart printed dress, shiny wings and a little red Cupid style bow. Her package is decorated with little chocolates and the back of the package has a place to write to and from.

American Girl Washington DC
We happened to be in the area of the Washington DC American Girl store Saturday night, purely on accident. Ok so maybe a bit on purpose but of course we had to stop and look around. We arrived not long before closing time and I was able to take a few photos to share with everyone.
I really love the limited edition Historical outfits, just not crazy about the cost. The more I see of Rebecca's butterfly outfit the more I love it, it is probably my favorite and I'm sure despite the cost it will make it into my collection. Speaking of Rebecca, her Spring dress was out of stock while I was there, and I didn't see it available online or even listed online.
I also really loved Julie's Dance outfit, and the double boiler in Kit's chocolate set.
The new floral swim set for the MAGs is also a favorite.
I bought several accessories for some of my dolls, and a new girl made her way into my shopping bag too. There will be more posts to come with the items I purchased.
I also received confirmation that we will see some of Samantha's items brought back but with a new twist. I'm really excited for that.

American Girl Samantha Returns
With all the goings on here this week I didn't get to check Facebook until today. When I did I saw that American Girl had confirmed the rumor that they were bringing Samantha Parkington out of the archives. Samantha has been archived for several years, but was the most popular doll of her era, she also had the largest collection of any doll. According to Mattel this is the beginning of several changes to the Historical line. I'm not sure what they are planning on doing with this line but it is my favorite of the American Girl lines.
I'm very excited to see Samantha again and I'm glad that others who want to own her will get the chance to buy her new. I'm hoping that some of her collection or new items for her collection will be released.
What do think Mattel has in store for the Historical line?

New American Girl Items
It's been snowing all night here and with everything closed I finally get a day to catch up with my online shopping. Today was the release of several new items on the American Girl website, and I'm excited to say that we have new Historical items. I think sometimes the historical collection gets overlooked, but Kit, Kaya, Julie and Rebecca all got limited edition outfit set. Addy, Caroline, Rebecca, Kit, and Julie all received hair styling sets as well. I was excited to see something new for Addy and a snood that can be worn with several outfits is a great thing.
I love Julie's new dress, it is very era appropriate. Rebecca's butterfly outfit is my personal favorite and I'm sure this outfit will look great on other dolls as well.
I was slightly disappointed that Josefina didn't receive anything, but maybe later on in the year she will. Marie Grace and Cecile didn't receive new outfits either but they received special edition sets the summer after their release, and the others did not.
Of the My American Girl items I really like the egg decorating set, a favorite tradition of mine growing up, and the new floral swim set. I think the cover up with the swimsuit is really cute. I also like the chair covers for the new table and chair set, and I'm hoping we will get more chair covers to keep adding to the decorating possibilities with this set.
I think the price on the special edition sets is a bit expensive, but they are better priced than the limited edition holiday outfit was.
Also a lot of Isabelle's accessories are already on backorder.

MGA announces no Bratz in the US during 2014
MGA had announced that they will not be releasing any Bratz dolls in the US during 2014, they will however be releasing them overseas. This doesn't really come as a surprise to many who have noticed the line has not faired well in the market place over the last two years. MGA wants to take this time to update the Bratz and make them more appealing in today's market place. This is a risky strategy since a year in the toy world is a big deal, but with increased competition and low sales it could work in MGA's favor. They are planning a huge comeback for 2015 and hopefully can get back to the heart of the Bratz appeal. I'm not sure what this means for the Bratzillaz, I didn't see them mentioned in the article. I guess only time will tell if this strategy will pay off for MGA, I wish them the best of luck because I love seeing diversity in the doll section of stores.
What do you think of their strategy?
Would you like to see new Bratz dolls or should they focus on their other lines?
